Welcome to the homepage of Jianpeng Liu!

I am a computational/theoretical condensed matter physicist working at Shanghai Tech University as a tenure-track assistant professor.

I am interested in various directions in condensed matter physics and materials science, including but not limited to topological materials, moire systems, strongly correlated systems, periodically driven systems, magnetism etc. I am also interested in developing and applying first-principles methods in computing electronic structures and transport properties of solid-state systems based on density functional theory.

In near future I will mostly work on twisted 2D van der Waals materials, magnetic topological materials, nonlinear optical properties of quantum materials, and Floquet engineering of quantum materials. There are multiple graduate students, visiting students, and research associate position openings in my group.
