2026.01. We first observed the counterintuitive phenomenon where salt-water droplets flow faster on a surface despite increased viscosity. We further elucidated that this behavior arises from ion-electron interactions at the solid-liquid interface. This work has been published in Advanced Science.

소금을 첨가하면 점도 증가로 인해 느려질 것으로 예상되는 물방울이, 오히려 고체 표면 위에서 더 빠르게 이동하는 반직관적 현상을 우리 연구실이 최초로 관찰하였습니다. 이 현상이 고체–액체 계면에서 이온–전자 상호작용에 의해 유도될 수 있음을 규명하며, 이에 대한 메커니즘을 제시하였습니다. 본 연구는 표면 및 계면 연구 분야의 세계적 연구 그룹인 막스플랑크 연구소 Hans-Jürgen Butt 그룹과 공동연구를 통해 수행되었으며, Advanced Science에 게재 되었습니다.

2025.05. We successfully implemented neuromorphic in-memory computing by integrating the functions of artificial neurons and synapses within a dual-layer memristive device, demonstrating its potential for in-situ learning. This work has been published in Advanced Electronic Materials.

우리는 이중 박막 기반의 멤리스터 소자를 통해 인공 뉴런과 인공 시냅스의 기능을 통합하고, 뉴로모픽 인메모리 컴퓨팅을 구현하는 데 성공하였습니다. 이를 통해 소자 내에서 자체적으로 학습을 수행하는 in-situ learning의 실현 가능성을 제시하였습니다. 본 연구는 Advanced Electronic Materials에 게재되었습니다 (Link).

2025.05. To understand how electrolytes at solid–liquid interfaces influence charge density in semiconductors, we developed a theoretical model incorporating ion–electron interactions. Our study elucidates the operating principle of ionovoltaic devices, and has been published in Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics.

2025.04. We developed an ultra-low-power molecular artificial synapse for neuromorphic computing by leveraging quantum scattering phenomena within molecules, aiming to address the critical issue of energy consumption in current computing systems. This work has been published in Advanced Science.
