Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges—Main Campus, November 8, 2024, Excitement filled the air as the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) held much awaited assembly, bringing together Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BSA) and Bachelor of Science in Accounting Management (BSMA) for a day of camaraderie, learning, and fun.
The event, designed to strengthen the bond among Accountancy students, showcased the various activities, interactions, and entertainments. As the event continued, the student leaders and especially the JPIA president among the program directors gave the students an inspiring speech. The JPIA assembly highlighted the organization’s commitment to promoting both academic and personal growth.
According to JPIA president Mr. Rayner Ordoña Sawit “As the JPIA president, I’m overjoyed that our first event this year, the JPIA assembly, was a success. Despite the shortcomings and struggles, we managed to pull it off as a team, and I’m amazed by the participant’s cooperation and also, I didn’t expect such a large turnout and genuine engagement.” He also added, “I’m grateful to God, my co-officers, our advisers, and participants. This experience exceeded my expectations, and I hope future programs replicate this success.”
As the event continued, the various activities showcased different strategies and creativity as they worked together as a team. Students also enjoyed a showcase of talents, with performances that added energy and spirit to the event. Second-year students expressed their excitement as they playfully engaged in a lighthearted "payback" to the first-year accountancy students, reflecting on their own experiences as freshmen.
Second-year BSMA student Mr. Kurt Bughao shared, “It feels good to take a fun revenge on the freshmen because, during my first year, we endured so much. Now, it’s our turn for some playful payback, and it feels great!”
In the final stretch of the event, the freshmen students formed a close circle as they focused intently and listened to the inspirational and heartfelt speech of Julie Ann Villaceran, CPA. Reflecting on the moment, first-year student Sienna Reyes shared, “We feel so humbled because it reflected what just happened. We did not expect it in our response, so Ma’am Julie was right. I think we have learned from what Ma’am Julie said.”
The JPIA Assembly not only celebrated the passion of future accountants but also set the tone for a united and inspired student. With such events, RMMC continues to foster an environment that prepares its students for both academic excellence and meaningful social connections.
The assembly gives both BSMA and BSA a sense of strong camaraderie. JPIA assembly concluded with smiles all around, marking the day as a memorable highlight for the BSMA and BSA communities.
