About Me

My name is Debra "Debbie" Jeffries. Fitchburg is my home! I was born and brought up here and earned both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Elementary Education from Fitchburg State College. My teaching career began at a private catholic school. It closed 2 years later and  I landed my dream job in the Fitchburg Public Schools , where I taught for 38 years!  Most importantly, I found my true love in Fitchburg! My husband, Steve, is my best friend. We were married in July of 1996 and reside in Fitchburg with our cat, Buddy!    

People often ask why I became a Justice of the Peace. The first reason was because of my own marriage. I treasure and value the commitment my husband and I share.  Steve and I have fun together! We respect and support one another. We enjoy spending time together whether it's going out to eat, traveling, attending Red Sox games, going to concerts, or sitting at home watching TV.   I also realized that many people aren't choosing to get married in the church. I wanted couples to be married by someone who would make them feel special while instilling a belief in the commitment of marriage.
