I am an HHMI Lecturer for the Department of Mathematics at Rice University. Previously, I held the lecturing positions at Loyola University Chicago and Northwestern University. I obtained my PhD from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Notre Dame, under the direction of Gerard Misiołek.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I am a person that loves trying new food places and enjoy the company others; even more if I get to listen to their stories. Sometimes I get so involved in someone's story that it may feel like an interview (apologies in advance!). I also enjoy going outside for a walk, playing basketball, and watching animation; cannot help it, I grew up with dbz and poke(t)mon(sters).
Regarding math, I am passionate about learning, teaching and thinking about thinking. My goal is to use active learning whenever interacting with math learners. I found my graduate mathematical interests at the intersection of analysis and partial differential equations. During this time, I studied two regularity properties of the data-to-solution map associated to the incompressible Euler equations. As an undergraduate student, I spent some time thinking about signed permutations, inequalities related to the time required to complete a job and Gauss's tests for convergence of series.

Misiołek was my graduate research and thesis advisor. He was very supportive of my decisions, even at times when I felt like to quitting.
The reason why I gravitate towards equations and mathematical physics derives from the teachings of Warma, both inside and outside the classroom.
Dr. Francis Castro (RIP)
Francis was my mentor and instructor. He was there for me when I needed someone the most both academically and personally.
Ivelisse was my first (and indirect) research advisor. Possibly the first person to have serious conversations with me about a life in math.
Jose Antonio Kelly
Kelly was the first math teacher that allow me to have fun while doing math. His approach to teaching was non-tradional and he motivated all his students to trust and follow their own ideas.
Samuel is both my friend and former colleague. We attended college for 10 years and his discipline and motivation was pillar to my success.
Vanessa is my mathematical sister. We know each other since I was in ninth grade and she has always rooted and supported me throughout the years.
Alex has been for many years a huge role model and someone I admire immensely. He was my first research mentor and to this day my friend.
