Who am I?

I am Jay Abawag, a GIS Specialist and Research Assistant with a strong foundation in Environmental Management and graduate-level studies in Public Administration. I am passionate about using geospatial data to support evidence-based decisions that address real-world challenges in both local and global contexts.

Experience and Roles

I currently serve as a Virtual GIS Specialist (Part-time) for a U.S.-based app development company, where I provide geospatial support for digital solutions. Over the years, I have also gained experience working with organizations in the Oil & Gas, Real Estate, Health, and Education sectors, applying GIS to address industry-specific needs.
In addition to my virtual work, I am engaged full-time as an On-Site Research Assistant at a prestigious research university in the Philippines, contributing to field-based data collection, analysis, and academic research initiatives.
