If you want deep pressure relaxation and heated comfort for a heavy, cozy sleep experience, choose Joythink Weighted Eye Masks; if you need lightweight breathability and sweat-wicking fabric for side sleeping or hot nights, choose Navly Headband.
• Joythink Weighted Eye Masks: Offers a weighted 3.5 oz insert for deep pressure therapy and heating, with Bluetooth 5.3 and 16-hour battery life, but adds significant bulk (8.8 oz total) that may feel heavy on the face. Best for users seeking a spa-like, grounding sensation to ease anxiety.
• Navly Headband: Features ultra-lightweight, moisture-wicking fabric with detachable electronics and a 12-hour battery, though it lacks any weight or heating elements. Best for hot sleepers, side sleepers who need zero pressure, and those prioritizing airflow.
The Joythink Weighted Eye Mask is designed for people who find traditional sleep masks too flimsy or ungrounding. The core differentiator here is the removable weighted insert, which tips the scales at about 3.5 ounces (100g). This isn't just a piece of fabric covering your eyes; it provides a gentle deep pressure sensation that mimics the feeling of a hug. For many, especially older adults dealing with restlessness or anxiety, this physical weight can be the key to calming the nervous system and easing eye fatigue before bed. The mask itself weighs around 8.8 ounces (250g), which is substantial compared to standard silk patches, but that heft is intentional. It creates a sense of security and stillness that lighter alternatives simply cannot replicate.
Comfort in this device comes from the material choice. It is crafted from silk, a fabric known for being soft, smooth, skin-friendly, and breathable. This ensures that even with the added weight of the insert and the internal electronics, the texture against the skin remains luxurious rather than abrasive. The design conforms to the curves of the face, and the adjustable magic tape headband accommodates most head circumferences. For someone who needs to block out light completely while traveling or during the day naps, the blackout capability combined with the tactile weight makes this a powerful tool for relaxation. It transforms a simple sleep accessory into a therapeutic device that promotes a more comfortable process of falling asleep.
However, this product is not for everyone. If you are a stomach sleeper or a very active side sleeper, the 8.8-ounce weight might feel cumbersome or cause discomfort over long periods. The mask includes built-in ultra-thin Bluetooth stereo speakers and a microphone, connected via Bluetooth 5.3 technology. While this allows for wireless playback of white noise, meditation music, or hands-free calls, the presence of these components inside the mask adds to the overall profile. You must remove the Bluetooth module before washing the mask, which adds a small step to maintenance. Additionally, the charging cycle requires two hours to achieve up to 16 hours of playback, so planning ahead is necessary. This mask is ideal for those who prioritize the psychological and physical benefits of weighted therapy and don't mind a slightly heavier setup to get them.

The Navly Headband targets a completely different set of needs, focusing primarily on temperature regulation and minimal intrusion. It is constructed from a soft, breathable woven material designed specifically to keep the head cool. This feature alone makes it an excellent choice for "hot sleepers" or anyone who tends to wake up sweaty after light exercise or during warmer climates. The fabric is moisture-wicking, which prevents heat buildup and keeps the head dry throughout the night. Unlike the weighted mask, there is no extra bulk pressing down on your face or ears; instead, it sits as a sleek band that adapts to head shapes within the 20 to 23.5-inch range. This one-size-fits-most approach means it works well for sharing among family members without needing complex sizing adjustments.
Durability and hygiene are central to the Navly design. The electronics are fully detachable; the 0.2-inch speakers and the 0.3-inch control panel pop out in seconds. Once removed, the headband can be machine washed on a gentle cycle or hand washed, then air dried. This is a crucial feature for nightly users who worry about odor buildup or the difficulty of cleaning integrated electronics. A clean bluetooth headband for sleeping becomes part of a regular laundry routine rather than a special care item. The touch controls allow for easy operation without fumbling, and the Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity offers a stable link for audio streaming. With a battery life of up to 12 hours on a single two-hour charge, it covers a full night's sleep for audiobooks, white noise, or guided meditations without dying in the middle of the night.
This headband is particularly suited for side sleepers who cannot tolerate anything pressing against their temples or ears. Because the speakers are flat and the material is thin, there is no risk of crushing the drivers into your skull when you roll over. It also serves as a great option for those who need a noise-canceling headphone for elderly users who might find bulky over-ear headphones uncomfortable, though this specific model relies on the fit rather than active noise cancellation. The lack of weight means it feels almost invisible while worn, making it perfect for people who move around frequently during sleep. However, it does not offer the deep pressure relief or the heating function found in other options, so it is strictly a comfort and audio solution rather than a therapeutic weight device.
• Best for deep pressure therapy → Joythink Weighted Eye Masks, thanks to its 3.5 oz removable insert that grounds the user.
• Best for hot sleepers and sweating → Navly Headband, utilizing moisture-wicking, breathable woven fabric to stay cool.
• Longest battery life → Joythink Weighted Eye Masks, offering up to 16 hours of playback versus the Navly's 12 hours.
• Best for side sleepers with sensitive ears → Navly Headband, due to its ultra-flat, lightweight profile that avoids pressure on the temples.
• Ease of cleaning → Both are washable, but Navly requires only removing the panel, whereas Joythink requires careful removal of the Bluetooth module.
• Connectivity generation → Joythink uses Bluetooth 5.3, while Navly utilizes the newer Bluetooth 5.4 for potentially faster pairing.
• Portability and travel weight → Navly Headband is significantly lighter (0.11 kg total) and less obtrusive in a carry-on bag.
• Feature versatility → Joythink offers heating capabilities and a microphone for calls, adding communication utility beyond audio.
• Adjustment fit → Joythink uses an adjustable magic tape headband, while Navly relies on stretchable fabric for a universal fit.
• Control method → Joythink uses simple buttons on the panel, whereas Navly employs touch controls for a modern interface.
I would choose the Joythink Weighted Eye Masks if my primary goal was to combat anxiety or insomnia through the soothing effect of weighted therapy, especially for an elderly family member who struggles to settle down at night. The combination of the 3.5 oz weight, the heating insert, and the 16-hour battery creates a comprehensive sleep aid that addresses both physical comfort and mental relaxation. In my opinion, the added weight is a feature, not a bug, for those who need that grounding sensation to fall asleep quickly. However, if the priority is purely cooling and avoiding any pressure on the face during sleep, the Navly Headband is the superior practical choice. Ultimately, for the specific use case of supporting elderly users who need extra help winding down, the therapeutic depth of the Joythink mask gives it the edge.
Neither product features active noise cancellation technology. They rely on bone conduction principles or direct speaker placement to play audio, which helps mask ambient noise through sound coverage rather than electronic cancellation.
Both products require you to detach the electronics before washing. For the Joythink mask, you must remove the Bluetooth module from the inside, while the Navly headband has a quick-release mechanism for the speakers and control panel, allowing the fabric to go straight into the wash.
The Joythink Weighted Eye Masks offer a longer runtime of up to 16 hours on a full charge, compared to the Navly Headband's 12-hour capacity, making Joythink better for extended overnight use or multiple days without recharging.
