Joy Speed is a shared idea between a father and his daughter. It is the one and only solution they’ve found to live consistenly within the absurdity of the European dream. Joy Speed is a music show, in which the daugther and his father pre- tend to be Aqua, the danish music group that riched the sky in the 90’s with their hit Barbie Girl. Joy Speed is also an improved version of a father recording images of his 7 year old daughter rehersals for a playback show at home. A live show with live visual effects, live music and live people, which is not that easy to and nowadays.

Joy Speed is born from a set of illusions, ideas, needs and objectives in which the creator has been working from 2018. The project is based on the following pillars:
The text of the anarchist Hakim Bay, on the Temporary Autonomous Zones and how these survive on the margins of state regulatory structures and conventions.
The universe of the 1990s and 2000s and how these set up an aesthetic, and a way to live for all those of us who lived them. Remarking Aqua Group as an alienating music symbol that set up the foundation of a whole generation.
The need to work with my father and talk about life, about death, about how with our 30 years of difference we live in a very similar way, and knowing that the clock of life will not always give us the opportunity to pass through the fictionalized memory, and at the same time the most intimate reality.
The documentary as a format, since long ago there is a need to mix disciplines, and understand that performing arts can embrace other arts and other ways to narrate. The documentary always sails infiction and reality and it’s open to reality to change the structure of the drama.
