Jinghui (Jove) Hou, 侯静慧

Assistant Professor of Information Systems

Bauer College of Business, University of Houston

My recent research focuses on working and decision-making with AI, consumer behavior in IT-mediated markets, and theory building concerning the uses and effects of emerging technologies.

My approach to research is question rather than methodology driven. So I use a variety of methodologies in my work, including lab and field experiment, natural or quasi experiment, econometrics, text mining and machine learning techniques as needed. Often, a single methodology falls short of answering my questions. As such, my work, in many cases, entails multiple methods/studies and triangulation of different data sources.

I hold a B.S. in Statistics from the Fudan University, and a PhD in Communication (ICT focus) from the University of Southern California. Before joining Bauer, I was an assistant professor at the Florida State University.
