What Happens in Counselling?
Counselling (sometimes called 'therapy' or 'psychotherapy') is not about the counsellor telling you what to do - it supports you to explore your thoughts, feelings and reactions and find answers to fit your unique situation.
Whether you come with work problems, grief, depression, anxiety, trauma or other concerns, my starting point is to provide a safe and confidential space where we can explore whatever arises. I offer respectful listening whatever your problems, beliefs, background, identity or age*.
I use a gentle, integrative counselling approach combining techniques from proven counselling methods to suit my client’s needs. I can also use the Enneagram personality typing system if that would be helpful. I enjoy creativity so you could choose to use art, writing or other creative activities in our work together.
* Please note: I do not currently counsel children or young people under 18 years of age
