S. R. Praveen of The Hindu wrote "Director Arun D. Jose cannot muster up any chemistry between the lead pair, while the politics in the film is merely a prop except at a few points."[16] Princy Alexander of Onmanorama wrote "Overall, the film has a good, youthful vibe. However, it is not as free-flowing as it's predecessors of the same genre, like 'Thanneer Mathan Dinangal', among others."[17] Subhash K. Jha of Times Now gave 3 out of 5 stars and wrote "For a film about a recycled Romeo & Juliet, Journey Of Love 18+ is a surprisingly reposeful film. A slap here and an abuse there, but otherwise the lovers face no major hurdles even during the climax when, traditionally, all hell should have broken loose."[18] A critic of The Times of India gave 3 out of 5 stars.[19]

An elopement is at the heart of Journey of Love 18+, but the one thing that stands out is the lack of chemistry between the lead pair Akhil (Naslen K Gafoor) and Athira (Meenakshi). This has much to do with how their whole love story is compressed into one song sequence right at the beginning, while the rest of the movie is one lengthy chronicle of their elopement, right from the extensive planning and even the struggles to get their wedding attire and jewellery.

Arun. D. Jose, who made his debut with Jo & Jo last year, yet again attempts to create a plot out of nothingness in 18+, along with co-writer Raveesh Nath. While the former was written around an anonymous love letter, in the latter, everything revolves around an elopement. The sheer lack of material to sustain the narrative is painfully evident at some points, while at others, the exuberance of the predominantly young cast carries the day for the movie.

Akhil and Athira, who were in love, are the central characters of this movie. Akhil is a worker of the Communist party, and Athira is the daughter of the prominent local leader of the same party. At one point, Athira told Akhil that she was ready to come with him because she feared her family would send her to Gujarat. The sudden plans of eloping and the repercussions of that plan are what we see in Journey of Love 18+.

Set in Kerala, Journey of Love 18+ revolves around Akhil and Athira's love story and the events that lead to their marriage. The film delves into the concept of early love marriages and how conventional society perceives it, according to the official plotline.

Though the treatment remains the same, 18+ essentially tries to go a little more deeper by exploring the risks of attempting to tie the knot when one is too young. Akhil (Naslen) is a Left-wing worker who is in love with the local secretary Raveendran (Manoj K U)'s daughter. Their marriage is a strict no-no since Akhil's family members were Raveendran's labourers.

Since a proper marriage is out of question, Akhil along with his cronies devise a plan for him to run away with his lover. What happens next forms the crux of the story. The makers have thrown in some interesting dialogues, party politics and small twists, which ensures the movie is engrossing.

We live abroad, we and many other families religiously watch Tech, Travel, Eat by Sujith Bhakthans Vlogs. We sit down as a family and watch it everyday, it brings us together and makes us feel like we're a part of their journey in Kerala. We want some more suggestions on similar vlogs to watch.

When director Arun D Jose announced his second project (18 Plus), hopes ran high among movie lovers that it would be as big a hit as his debut film Jo and Jo, which was released during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022.

As the title suggests, 18 Plus: Journey of Love is a romantic comedy set in Vadakara, Kozhikode district. It deals with the love story between Akhil (Naslen) and Athira (Meenakshi) and the incidents that lead to their marriage.

Akhil and Athira are in love for three years. One fine day, they decide to elope. However, Akhil, his friends Renju (Safwan) and Pattar (Anshid) decide to seek the help of Rajesh (Binu Pappu) who eloped and married his love interest.

Set in northern Kerala, 18 Plus mentions how political parties play an important role in the daily lives of the cadre and workers. It also speaks about how the Communist Party plays a key role in marrying off lovers, especially inter-caste and inter-religious couples.

As EliKutty turns four, I would like to share the highlights of my journey of not only falling in love with Malayalam, but finding my voice online and being a part of some important conversations about learning Malayalam, preserving culture, and advocating for mother tongue education.

From then, my love for learning languages and using social media as a way to study Malayalam gave way to some fun opportunities. I had a solo journey across Kerala from Kasaragod to Trivandrum. I collaborated with singers, chefs, and historians. I was invited to speak at TEDx Hanoi, Women in Language, and the Polyglot Conference. I continued to be featured in articles in Indian media, and am now working toward becoming a published author.

Try to opt for an experiential hotel in the area. Choosing a hotel that in the midst of a spice plantation amplifies the experience manifold. We stayed in Shalimar Spice Garden. Shalimar Spice Garden is a rustic yet luxurious hideaway in Thekkady. The hotel is located in the middle of 30 acres of spice plantations. Rooms are well-equipped, spacious, and boast of huge balconies. The hotel boasts of a gorgeous pool area dotted with hammocks and swings. The in-house restaurant serves delectable food. We loved our stay at Shalimar Spice Garden and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Spend your last night in Kumarakom on a houseboat. This is an experience like no other. Make sure you choose a traditional houseboat fashioned out of reed, cork, and bamboo. We spent the night on a 1 bedroom houseboat by Spice Coast Cruises and loved the experience. The evening was spent sailing past duck farms, busy villages, and floating shops. We watched the sun set over the backwaters from the comfort of our houseboat. We devoured a three course meal as the day metamorphosed into night. Most of the evening was spent lounging on the boat while staring at the stars. Make the most of it as it will soon be time to drive out of Kumarakom.

What a beautiful post and I love the pictures! Kerala is most beautiful place and top tourist destination in India. Munnar is my favorite place in Kerala, it is adorned with lofty mountains, lush greenery, misty clouds, waterfalls and much more. Thank you for sharing the wonderful travel guide for Kerala.

Sanccharram (2004), is a sapphic romance set against the green, lush background of a village in Kerala. The dialogues in Malayalam, may it be the proclamations of love between the leads, or the homophobic taunts of the angry relatives, opens our eyes to how representation in regional films is crucial in giving a voice to queer people in specific cultural contexts. e24fc04721
