On Theme Issues: An invitation from the Journal of Econometrics

The Journal of Econometrics invites  proposals for topics based issues, or Theme Issues,  that may or may not originate from conferences. These theme based submissions, focused on a particular topic of interest to readers of our journal, will go through the regular editorial process. In addition, the themes are announced on the journal website as they would be open and accessible to all authors. If a Theme originated from a conference, a submission to such a Theme can be independent of conference participation as long as the such submission is on the Theme topic.

The organizers of the proposals may serve as Guest Associate Editors who make recommendations to the Co-Editors on editorial decisions. The collection of papers on ‘Vector-autoregression’ is our inaugural ‘Proposed Theme Issue’.

In addition, as a new initiative to promote research on areas of current active interest, the editors will collect  papers on a related topic and publish them as a Theme issue. These papers are taken from regular submissions that have successfully gone through the review process. The collection of papers on 'Treatment Effect' is our inaugural 'Contributed Theme Issue'
