Jourdan Laine wins national directing award for LA VOIX HUMAINE
Announced in November 2025, Jourdan Laine's production of LA VOIX HUMAINE, starring soprano Taylor Malcolm and played by pianist Anna Hakobyan, earned a first place nod at the National Opera Association's 2024-2025 Opera Production Competition.
Directed by Jourdan Laine, the production played for two nights at THE CUBE in San Antonio, Texas, an experimental black box theatre in the heart of the arts disctrict. With minimal sets, minimal lighting, and the use of English supertitles, the threwe women brought an honest and gut-wrenching story to life. Elle, meaning 'girl', spends close to 40 minutes on the phone with an ex-lover, analyzing past choices, diving deep in to their relationship, as Elle slowly unravels into despair.
