Post-doctoral scholar

Alfu (Ally) Laily, PhD

2025 - present

Alfu is a postdoctoral scholar at Purdue University’s School of Nursing, holding a PhD in Public Health. Her research spans cancer prevention, vaccine hesitancy, digital health communication using large language models, and health equity in women’s care. Prior to earning her doctorate, she led national and international community health initiatives, co-managed a cervical cancer center of excellence in Indonesia, and co-authored several patents. She has received numerous academic honors, including the Student Research Award from the Society of Behavioral Medicine and the Outstanding Public Health Student Award from the Indiana Public Health Association for excellence in public health practice.

Alex McQuade is a dual Sociology major in the College of Liberal Arts and Doctor of Pharmacy candidate at the College of Pharmacy. Alex enjoys traveling and making music in his free time. He has a passion for research that investigates the external factors which play a role in healthcare decisions.

Indira Amin

My name is Indira Amin and I am a sophomore, pre-med, honors student majoring in Biology in the Department of Biological Sciences within the College of Science. I am also pursuing minors in Chemistry and Psychology, hoping to attend medical school.

Santhoshi Anitha Ramkumar

Santhoshi is an undergraduate student at the School of Nursing, with interests in public health and anesthesiology. In her free time, she enjoys music and hiking. During summers, she works as a Certified Nursing Assistant within nursing homes to gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies of patient care.

Uma is an undergraduate honors student in the School of Nursing. In her free time Una enjoys reading and embroidery. She hopes to gain more experience with research and public health in preparation for post-grad studies.

Meriel Althaus

2025 - present

Meriel is an undergraduate student in the College of Pharmacy majoring in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a minor in management. Meriel enjoys listening to music, throwing pottery, and reading in her free time. During the summers she works as a pharmacy technician at a community pharmacy, with hopes of attending pharmacy school in the future.
