I've supported, organized, and marketed a wide array of events including fundraising 5Ks and bike rides; memorial events; farmers markets; citywide music and arts gatherings; indie rock shows; a regional Celtic festival; golf tournaments; and a series of winter festival events.
SAVE's fundraising and advocacy events included signature and partner-hosted 5Ks, an annual bike ride, streaming fundraisers, and several golf outings. The team also hosted press events and advocacy days of action.
At Moorhead Parks and Recreation, I coordinated and produced a weekly summer farmers market; the five-part RiverArts concert and art series; Greater Moorhead Days events including a parade, summer concert, medallion hunt, and kids' fest; Frostival winter events; a trunk-or-treat; and a regional Celtic Festival. I also coordinated events tied to the river paddling, skateboarding, and figure skating programs I managed.
The first music event I ever hosted was an open mic at the store where I sold records in high school. Shows at small venues like The Aquarium in Fargo, North Dakota, have in many ways defined my community and life. Graphics below showcase music and community events that I have organized and supported with creative materials and marketing campaigns.
As a designer, one of my favorite parts of event promotion is creating posters and graphics. I can do it all, but some of my favorite creative incorporates playful vintage sensibilities, campy horror aesthetics and experimental typography.
