This project is to show examples of different types of digital media and the licensed information they come with.
I found this image by searching for "leaf" on the Creative Commons website
I downloaded the medium size of the image from Flickr and then uploaded it to this web page.
This image is shared under the CC BY-SA 2.0 license. That means anyone can:
Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially.
Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
As long as these terms are followed:
Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
No additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

This is an example of a short clip animation gif of the movie The Truman Show starring Jim carry.
An animated gif is like that of flipping pages rapidly to make a drawing or frames to seem as if they are moving, and each frame is different, of what looks like motion going on in the image.
I found this gif through google and embedded this gif from GIPHY.
The licensing of the gif does have a license, a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license, which just means all their gifs are free to use without permission. So, it doesn't use any CC license, so I will give credit by using the TASL (Title, Author, Source, and License) rule.
Title: Jim Carrey film GIF
Author: Sandra Suárez
License: non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license
This sample audio file to the left, is from a song called "Liberation" by Grégoire Lourme.
I downloaded this song from Jamendo as a mps and uploaded it to my google drive and embedded the audio.
This digital media license can be bought by Jamendo, the license being based off of a sync license. Basically, it can adhere to any type of license, I would choose the CC BY-SA license for this project
Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially.
Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.
Under the following terms:
Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
No additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
According to Jamendo's web page:
"Liberation" By Grégoire Lourme is licensed under any paid license based off of Jamendo licensing.
This is an example of an embedded video.
This is a popular song that has been used throughout the internet to "rickroll" people. Rickroll or rickrolling is misleading people with links to this video, it popularized in 2007-2008, sometimes still being used to this day.
According to the licensing by Songfacts:
"Never Gonna Give You up" by Rick Astley may be used to distribute on media and commercials by the Master use license, and distributed by other means through a Sync license, mechanical license, and Grand performance license (Basically a form of CC BY-SA license).
This project was very informative and fun, especially when trying to find the licensing information. The licensing information types was something that I found surprising, I knew that a lot of media had licensing, but I didn't know that they could be so restricting at times, especially when it comes to music. But I also learned how to give credit on digital media that has a CC license, or any other kind of license, and ways of crediting media if they don't specify the information of the license.
