I often write blogposts detailing my mathematical journey, predominantly through Medium and LinkedIn. These blogposts are mostly about either my teaching, or about my academic career. Recent topics have included: an overview of recurrence relations, takeaways from some talks I gave on my research, and how I built a meaningful working relationship with my PhD advisors.
I have also collaborated on these efforts with others. Joint expository mathematics articles submitted to peer-reviewed journals are listed below.
Hung V. Chu, Steven J. Miller, Joshua M. Siktar: “Composites in an Arithmetic Progression," Mathematics Magazine, June 2025.
Finally, I sometimes write expository lecture notes to aid in my own understanding of a mathematical topic, and then share the notes with others.

Service to the profession is an important aspect of my career as a mathematician. The beautiful thing about outreach and service is that there are a lot of different ways a mathematician can make a broader impact on their communities, be it within their department, surrounding educational institutions, or even society as a whole. My service contributions focus on paying forward opportunities that were given to me as a student, and serving as a source of inspiration and advice for students wishing to pursue math and science-oriented careers. In the past, this has involved recruiting graduate students for the University of Tennessee, as well as giving talks to high school and college students about problem-solving techniques and overviews of life as a mathematician. Also, when organizing minisymposia at regional meetings, I make sure to invite students to present their work.
