As soon as I graduated from my Honours degree, I was super excited to get back into the classroom and start gaining teaching experience. I have a keen passion for teaching and learning and if I hadn't got distracted by sociophonetics, I'd probably be a high school English teacher by now (all the best laid plans). I've had wonderful experiences teaching across UniMelb's undergrad and graduate Linguistics and Applied Linguistics programs, which have sometimes been really challenging, and I continue to learn through my teaching practice: about how to be a better instructor; how to better communicate the ideas and tools of our discipline(s); and also learn more about the discipline outside my sometimes narrow research area. Below is a list of the courses I have taught on with links to relevant handbook entries so you can get an idea of what some of our more obscure course titles actually mean. My favourite subjects to teach are Phonetics, English Phonetics and Phonology, and Language Society and Culture, as these intersect with my research interests most closely.
