Prior to starting my PhD, I received a BM in Jazz Studies at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and I have been working as a freelance jazz saxophonist in the Midwest since 2012. I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to play all over the country, and I still perform regularly with various groups in the area such as the Kline/Gemus/Buckley Trio, Retro-Nouveau Quartet, Buckley/Kline Duo, Animal Mother, and the Original Farm League Big Band.
Recently drummer Tom Buckley and I released the second album of our improvised duo project on the Flood Music label (Chicago).
