Joseph R. Ball was a taxicab dispatcher in Des Moines, WA. He is best known for his work during the Great Depression, which saw an increase in demand for transportation as people were forced to travel farther distances for work and food. It also saw an increase in crime rates as people sought out ways to make money through illegal means.
Joseph R. Ball's position required him to be on-call at all hours of the day and night, which allowed him to witness many of the crimes committed by desperate individuals during this time period. He kept detailed records of these events, which he later used as evidence against his accusers during a murder trial that took place.
Since he has really learned how important it is to have good communication skills in order to be successful in this business.
