Welcome!
I’m Joseph Jung. I earned my PhD in Economics from Dalhousie University in 2023 and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Saint Mary's University from 2023 to 2025. My research sits at the intersection of development economics and political economy, examining how industrial, innovation, and competition policies shape firm behaviour, economic performance, and inequality. I use causal inference and machine learning methods to produce policy-relevant evidence.
Alongside research, I am deeply committed to economics education. I design courses that integrate narrative structure, real-world data, and applied policy analysis to cultivate critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
