- Some feedback from students -
"The lecture material was extensive and the case studies challenged students to use ideas and formulas learned in class for real-world scenarios. I enjoyed the discussion that he facilitated in class which helped me learn about alternative ways students approached solutions." (Spring 2024)
"I think Professor Henry is very good at helping us learn excel and explaining concepts. Additionally, I know a lot of people and myself really appreciated the weekly surveys because it was really noticeable that Professor Henry listened to us and adjusted how he taught the course. I definitely feel that the learning later in the semester improved a lot from the beginning." (Spring 2024)
"The instructor does a great job simplifying complicated theories in class. It helps give a baseline understanding before adding in more complicated scenarios. Additionally, despite my class's quiet attitude, he always presented well and was receptive to any questions which I thought was very impressive. It helped with content understanding and it demonstrates that he has a lot of patience and a reasonable tolerance of students. A really nice professor who wants the best for his students, within expected and reasonable guidelines." (Spring 2024)
"He was very knowledgeable on the topic and there was always a real-life or applicable example we could work on to make sure we understood the qualitative and quantitative parts" (Fall 2023)
"Awesome professor, cared more about helping students form a better thought process and connecting concepts to the real world rather than swamping students with large amounts of bookwork. Made an effort to get students involved in research outside of the classroom. Wish I'd had more professors like him." (Spring 2023)
"Joseph Henry has been a fantastic professor for me over these past 2 semesters. I took him for Financial management 1&2 and really enjoyed his teaching style. He is very knowledgeable on the topic and does a nice job applying it to real world situations. He gives a reasonable amount of homework that really allows the student to apply what they learned through the use of Excel." (Spring 2023)
"Professor Henry is a great professor! I enjoyed his lectures very much because he doesn't just read out the book or PowerPoint, he engages the class, asks questions, and continues to follow up. The thing I specifically like about this course and the way professor Henry teaches is the way he revolves much of the course work around excel, which is crucial in this industry. We are taught the math formulas and the process and whys of those formulas, but we also are taught how to do them in excel. My knowledge and skills in excel have improved very much due to this course." (Spring 2022)
"Professor Henry came to every single class prepared with the lesson and wanted his students to think critically and on their feet. He is a great professor and clears up a lot of confusion and questions students have." (Fall 2021)
"This has been my favorite online class. I really like how the classes never waste time-the videos are always information dense, while also being example/application driven, while also relating the information to current events, because you use the whole 75 minutes and move through it at a fast pace." (Spring 2021)
"One of the only online classes that was actually cohesive and easy to follow and understand." (Fall 2020)
"Joe legitimately cares how students learn and teaches in a way that is comfortable but challenging (in a good way). I learned a lot from this course." (Spring 2020)
"He is very articulate and makes sure we understand the material. He is very open to ways to improve his ways of teaching and how the class is structured." (Fall 2019)
