I was born and raised in the Central Valley of California in a very agriculturally focused area. This upbringing ultimately fueled my passion for conservation and preservation of our natural resources. Most of my time was spent in music, but later developed a passion and commitment to the natural world through volunteer experiences before attending Cal State Monterey Bay.
In my undergraduate career I got involved in research early on, beginning with molecular work, then later moving on to primarily field ecology. My passion for research and conservation grew with every new experience, especially if it involved being outdoors. Moving forward, I'm interested in further developing my laboratory and field skills through graduate school.
In my free time I enjoy bouldering, hiking, music, reading, and surrounding myself in lively social settings.
My research interests include trophic ecology, invertebrate biology and phenomics, invertebrate and algae aquaculture, avian ecology and biodiversity, restoration methods and impacts.
An overlapping concept within these interests is conservation and preserving ecological resilience in the face of a changing climate.
I aim to attend graduate school beginning Fall 2026. I am seeking out projects or labs that align with my research interests, but I am open to new locations and ecosystems that differ from my previous experiences.
After graduate school I hope to work on the state level (what state? not sure...) in natural resource management and research to ultimately contribute to conservation efforts.
