Joseph Bundala currently serves as a Global Product Manager at ENGIE Energy Access, overseeing product introductions across nine African countries, including Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique, Benin, Ivory Coast, and Kenya. He is responsible for initiating product concepts, conducting market research, developing pilot strategies, and launching products. Previously, he served as a Senior Engineering Associate at the Access to Energy Institute (A2EI), a nonprofit Research and Development organization dedicated to advancing the solar products in developing countries, productive energy use products, and the introduction of clean cooking products. His expertise spans Product Development Processes, Research Methodologies, and Project Management in Renewable Energy. He also possesses technical proficiency in Modeling and Simulation, MATLAB, PV System Design and Pricing, Data Analytics using R, Telecom Systems Integration, C Programming, GNU Octave, LabVIEW, and Electronics.
He acquired his Master of Science in Automation and Control Systems Engineering from The Silesian University of Technology in Poland. In his Master thesis titled Control of Electric Motors using ZedBoard, he designed an Autonomous Ground Vehicle with the aim of simulating power usage of Direct Current (DC) Motors when an engine is run by Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) or an Advanced RISC Machine (ARM) processor. Furthermore, he graduated his Bachelor Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering at The University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania with honors.
