Kia Ora, and welcome. My name is Joseph Harris, from Raumati South situated on the beautiful Kāpiti Coast. Having spent the best part of a decade based overseas furthering my education and pursuing a career playing professional football, I have always proudly flown the New Zealand flag wherever my travels have taken me. Since returning to Aotearoa, I have been fortunate to begin a career with OneStaff recruitment in Hamilton, first as a recruiter, then a client manager, before being given the chance to return home to Wellington and take on the Area Managers position. Here I am responsible for the management and business growth of our office, helping connect businesses and individuals with the staffing and job opportunities they seek, providing professional employment advice, and the development of a team here in the capital. I have also been very lucky to continue my playing career with the Miramar Rangers Football Club, and give back to the sport in a community coaching role, coaching numerous youth teams and helping at public events.
Helping our communities grow and individuals to be successful, involved, and self sufficient are things that I am immensely passionate about. I am an optimistic and empathetic individual, highly motivated, adaptable, and thrive in quick-paced environments, and committed to helping a team achieve its goals.

In addition to my daily duties as an employee for the Seattle University recycling department, in 2016 I completed a further internship investigating the schools efforts and attitudes towards new and existing recycling programs. This included determining whether the implementation of a campus or departmental green teams could play a role in meeting the universities green goals, and did support for such an organisation exist.
Linked is a reflection piece on my internship and its findings, as well as my survey shared with the university.

My capstone paper was an investigation into green roofing initiatives in urban centres and their effectiveness across a range of measures. To read more about my findings, you can find the paper linked here.
