About Jose Ovando

Jose Ovando has proudly called Laredo home for over 20 years, dedicating his life to family, education, and community service. As a devoted husband and father of three daughters, he has a deep commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Laredo.

Education has been the foundation of Jose’s success. After earning his Bachelor’s degree, he pursued a J.D. degree and completed extensive training to become a respected agent with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Border Patrol (USBP), where he has served with distinction for over two decades.

Jose’s passion for service extends beyond his career. He has been an active member of the Laredo community, serving on the Laredo Library Board and participating in numerous local initiatives aimed at improving our city.

Now, Jose Ovando is ready to bring his experience, dedication, and love for Laredo to the City Council. He is committed to making Laredo a better place for all families and humbly asks for your support in the 2024 City Council race.
