I'm a PhD candidate in Information Systems Management at Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University.
I'm interested in how digitization and technology impact media markets. I use empirical methods and machine learning to evaluate how policies and innovation on digital platforms affect consumers, creators, and the platforms themselves.
In recent work, I partnered with Spotify to study how on-platform promotion, especially playlists, drives off-platform outcomes such as concert demand. I identify ways these tools can support artists’ career growth while helping platforms meet their goals and expand opportunities for creators.
I'm also interested in the opportunities and risks of generative AI in creative industries. In recent experimental work, I test how the use of these models in music creation influences what gets made and how listeners perceive it.
Before my PhD, I worked as a marketing analyst at Pandora Media and as an economics research intern at Spotify.
