As Professional Development Coordinator, I created, scheduled, and ran workshops that varied from study tips, applying for scholarships and research experiences for undergraduates, and applying to graduate school. I also served as a moderator for panels such as "Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, Unidos: Inclusion para una nacion mas fuerte," in which UTRGV faculty shared their experiences as Hispanic students in STEM fields.

JumpStart is a five-week program at UTRGV that helps incoming freshmen meet Texas College Readiness standards while building a support network of faculty, mentors, and advisors.

Paired Jumpstart classes are designed for students that need to pass the Mathematics portion of the Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSI - a college entrance exam) before taking their college math classes. The first five of weeks cover remedial math content and the rest of the semester covers the Elementary Statistics content.

My official role as Team Teacher was to serve as a Teacher Interventionist and provide supplemental instruction for students that were in danger of being unsuccessful in their math classes. I mainly focused on ninth grade Algebra students that needed to take the Mathematics State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) and twelfth grade students that needed help passing the TSI.

I worked as a student teacher for the Northside ISD while part of the UTeach SA program as an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at San Antonio. This program prepared undergraduate students to create and execute lesson plans in STEM courses. I observed and taught at an elementary, middle, and high school in Northside ISD.
