Joselito Belmonte Cendaña is a lifelong spiritual pilgrim and student of life whose journey has taken many creative and contemplative turns. Born in Manila, his exploration of the deeper dimensions of existence has continued through decades of spiritual inquiry in its many expressions and ways of knowing. In his earlier career, he was a recording-band musician and journalist for some of the Philippines’ leading newspapers, finding in artistic ways of seeing another doorway to deeper awareness of interbeing and the sacred.
For the past 20-plus years, Joselito's journey has found expression in interspiritual service and supporting efforts to advance a more enlightened approach to educating our youth. He has worked with two spiritual communities committed to interfaith peace and the awakening of human consciousness through both personal practice and social action: the Theosophical Society in the Philippines (TSP) and the Bahay Dalangin Zen Community. In these circles, he has served as writer, editor, and designer for various peace and interspiritual publications, drawing from the well of perennial wisdom and contemporary spiritual insight.
His work — whether in sound, print, or silence — is inspired by a heartfelt dedication to the principle of the Unity of All Life based on the glorious reality of our essential Oneness, a theme that runs through both his personal evolution and compassionate work.
Interspiritual work seeks to build bridges among people of different religious and spiritual traditions through shared practice, dialogue, and service. Instead of focusing on differences in beliefs and forms, it recognizes the same spiritual ground that underlies them all, while honoring the richness of each tradition. Interspiritual encounters foster mutual understanding, a sense of universal kinship, and an awareness that wisdom and compassion can arise through different paths to the Divine. Because consciousness is primary in reality, interspiritual work can help break down the barriers that divide religions, individuals, and nations, therefore contributing to the healing of our world whose wounds are none other than our own.
A concrete expression of this vision was the "Meeting of the Two Seas: Dialogue in Silence,” an interfaith meditation retreat organized by members of the Peace Center of the Theosophical Society in the Philippines and teachers of the Bahay Dalangin Zen Community, a sangha led by the Cenacle nun Sr. Sonia Punzalan Roshi, Lydia Gaurano Sensei, and Trinitas Integrative Healing Ministry founder Fr. Efren "Momoy" Borromeo Sensei. Held on April 21, 2026 at the Cenacle Retreat House and Spiritual Center in Loyola Heights, Quezon City, the interspiritual gathering was joined by a Sufi teacher and followers, as well as devotees of other faiths, in a spirit of shared mystical practice and interbeing.
Education is an important field of social action because the children we nurture today will shape the society and world of tomorrow. And since lasting social transformation begins with the transformation of individuals, a more enlightened form of education is vital for our youth today.
One of the principal projects of the Theosophical Order of Service (TOS)-Philippines, the compassionate service arm of the Theosophical Society in the Philippines (TSP), is its support for transformative education through the Golden Link College Foundation, Inc. Founded by former TSP president and renowned theosophist Vicente Hao Chin Jr., the Foundation runs the Golden Link College and other Golden Link schools, which seek to provide this kind of education.
Golden Link’s vision of education goes beyond the mere transmission of knowledge. It is an education of the whole person — mind, heart, and soul — that supports our evolutionary process of spiritual unfolding.
At Golden Link, learning is seen not just as preparation for a career, but as preparation for living wisely and meaningfully. Students are encouraged to discover their abilities, develop self-awareness, think independently, relate to others with compassion, and grow into universally responsible adults who care for our world, our planet, all of humanity, and all sentient beings.
Academic learning is important, but so are character, creativity, emotional maturity, values, relationships, inner development, self-transcendence, and so on. In a nurturing environment, students are encouraged to learn with curiosity rather than fear, to see mistakes as opportunities for growth, and to discover the joy of learning.
In this sense, the Golden Link schools provide a more enlightened education because they help students not only to know more, but to become more aware, more mindful, more compassionate, and more capable of reaching their highest human potential which is no less than Self-Realization or enlightenment itself.
