I am a volleyball coach with more than 25 years of experience. I began coaching in the late 1980s, first attending national coaching courses and later completing a Certificate in Sports Coaching (specialization: Volleyball) at the University of Leipzig (Germany), where I also earned FIVB International Coach Levels 1 and 2. I then pursued further development in Italy, where I obtained the FIPAV Level 3 coaching credential, the highest certification awarded by the Italian Volleyball Federation.
Over the course of my career, I have coached in Peru, Saint Lucia, the United States, Italy, Spain and Canada, working with national teams, regional selections, professional Serie A clubs, university teams, and youth development programs. Currently, I am the Head Coach of the Ambrose University Men’s Volleyball team in Calgary, Canada.
In the academic sphere, I hold a master’s degree in Sports Training and Sports Management, a bachelor’s degree in Education (major in Physical Education), and a professional license in Physical Education. I also earned a Graduate Certificate in High Performance Coaching & Technical Leadership from the University of British Columbia (UBC), and the Advanced Coaching Diploma (ACD) from the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) at the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific (CSI Pacific). At present, I am pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Research, with a specialization in Leadership, Policy & Governance (Post-Secondary Contexts) at the University of Calgary.
Alongside my doctoral studies, I serve as a university professor at the Faculty of Business of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC), where I teach in the Sport Business and Administration program. In addition, I am a sessional instructor at Ambrose University in Calgary, teaching KIN 241 – Introduction to Coaching. I am also a Chartered Professional Coach (ChPC), certified by the Coaching Association of Canada.
