Summary

I’m Jose Antonio Ovando Ricardez (you can call me Pepe 😊), a Bioinformatics Specialist 🧬 from Tabasco, Mexico 🇲🇽, with over 4 years of experience in human genomics, spatial and single-cell transcriptomics. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Genomics from Juarez Autonomous University of Tabasco 🎓 and I’m about to begin my graduate studies 🎯.

I currently work remotely as a Research Associate at The Ohio State University 🏛️, where I focus on applying bioinformatics to study cancer through multi-omics analysis and spatial transcriptomics 🧬.

In addition to my academic work, I also serve as the Director of Bioinformatics at GenomicsTrack Solutions 🌐, a part-time role in a Mexican startup providing bioinformatics services to laboratories and biotech companies across Latin America 🌎.

So far, I’ve contributed to 8 scientific publications in high-impact journals such as Genome Biology, Cell Reports Methods, Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC), and Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI) 📝. 

My passion lies in uncovering molecular mechanisms behind cancer, aging, and pulmonary diseases using advanced computational approaches and integrative analysis 🚀.
