Cuidado y manejo de colecciones biológicas (102110C)

This undergraduate course provides to students with the knowledge and basic tools for the correct collection and preservation of biological specimens and processing of associated data, as well as the basics of curatorial management of biological collections. Students develope several practices at the zoological and botanical collections of Univalle, including field work projects where they chracterize biological groups supported by the collection and study of specimens.

Métodos en taxonomía integrativa (102249)

In this graduate course students integrate several concepts and analytical tools from different areas in biology to delimit and clasify species and populations. Students learn about methods in morphology, bioacustics, behavior, phylogeography and genomics to characterize variation in phenotype and genotype, whereas they develope practices where they discuss the implications of their findings in the context of biodiversity, conservation and evolution.
