Optimization algorithms for robust optimal design, shape optimization and material design in aeronautics.

This research line is oriented to develop, implement and apply meta-heuristics and optimization methods in aeronautical and engineering applications. Focusing on Genetic Algorithms, Hybrid methods with Game Theory, Nash games but also memetic algorithms combining Genetics, Gradient-based or other meta-heuristics.

Uncertainty Quantification


Uncertainty Quantification methods applied to engineering and CFD problems.

This research line is aimed on the assessment of the integration of uncertainty into engineering problems. The focus is on Monte Carlo methods, but not limited to, while application range is CFD for aeronautics, with other ones coming soon.

CFD for multi-fluid flows

The main aim of this research line is to deal with water management in the PFEM fuel cells. Other related topics, like droplet formation, have been considered.

Flight Efficiency analysis

Flight operations and efficiency are relevant for the greening of the air transport. Identifying the relevant metrics, and applying them to understand how companies, ANSP, and individual flights are performing.
