Just down the road from the sign posts offers a good view of planes banking off of RWY21L when they're in the pattern. This spot also allows for decent views of RWY21L departures.
From the corner spot, drive down Creed Road. If driving east, you should pass a house on your left, a row of trees on your right, and then come up on a ranch on your left. I usually park in front of the ranch where there are markings for a gas line. Thusfar I have not had issues with the owners of the ranch.
While the pin is generally where I am for banking shots, planes don't always bank at the same time. You have to be willing to be mobile and adjust based on what the aircraft is doing. If the aircraft banks of RWY21L early, then you need to be further down Creed Road.
In general, you want the longest focal length you have available. The longer the focal length, the better. I use a 600mm lens here.
This spot is good for early mornings before 11AM. Before 11AM, light is shining on the plane when it is banking. Light will still be decent after 11AM, but the plane will become backlit earlier in the turn.
