Recently, to meet the dynamic response over broad optical bands, optically active materials have been integrated with diverse photonic platforms. We mainly focus on the optically active materials of phase change materials (GST) and conducting polymers (PEDOT:PSS and polyaniline) for a power-efficient light-matter modulation platform.

We deeply studied structural color as the visual effect caused by the photonic structure, creating vivid colors without pigments. A colorimetric sensor changes color in response to chemical or physical changes, providing a simple, visual indication of the presence or concentration of a substance.
