I apply text analysis and machine learning to questions in macroeconomics and monetary policy at the Bank of Finland's Monetary Policy and Research Department. My research examines central bank communication and policy preferences, the role of media in shaping inflation expectations, nowcasting with high-frequency data, and the measurement of geopolitical risk from news media. I have contributed policy-oriented work to VoxEU, SUERF, and the ECB.

Research interests: central bank communication, monetary policy, inflation expectations, text analysis and NLP, nowcasting, geopolitical risk, machine learning in economics.
