Information for visiting Sorors, Sorors new to the chapter, and non-financial members
Greetings Sorors!
The Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated meets every second Sunday at 3 pm September through May (unless otherwise noted on the chapter calendar).
Chapter Meetings are open to duly initiated members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. who are not on disciplinary action. In order to attend Chapter Meetings, a visiting Soror must submit the verification form below at least 72 hours before the meeting. Meeting location details will be forwarded upon successful verification of membership. The attire for the Chapter Meeting is Delta business attire, which is traditionally a business suit, dress, skirt, pants, sleeveless blouse, blouse and blazer – clothing, and religious head-wraps that reflect a professional style. Wearing denim of any color and line jackets of any kind or color is inappropriate for Chapter Meetings.
PLEASE NOTE: Individuals seeking membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will NOT be admitted into the chapter meeting.

I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta and would like to visit a Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter meeting. What do I need to know before visiting?
A: Meetings of the Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter are only open to the duly initiated members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in good standing. Consequently, proof of membership is required and must be verified before admittance to chapter meetings is granted. In order to attend chapter meetings, a visiting Soror must submit the verification form at least 72 hours before the meeting. Meeting location details will be forwarded upon successful verification of membership.
First time visitors are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes early as credentials are verified prior to admitting new members into the meeting.
Additionally, please be advised that business attire is required for every chapter meeting (no denim, khaki, shorts, flip flops, etc.).
I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta (but I’m not currently financial or I’m interested in transferring my membership) and would like to join Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter. What do I need to do to become a member?
A: To reactivate your membership (currently non-financial) or become a member of our chapter for the next financial year (currently financial), all you need to do is pay local and national dues. Dues may be paid at a chapter event, a chapter meeting or online. Please email jonesboroalumnae@live.com, subject line "Membership dues", for more information on paying in-person or a link to pay online (additional fees apply for online payment).
To transfer your current active membership, please email jonesboroalumnae@live.com, subject line "Transfer membership", for next steps. This option will transfer your current membership from another chapter or member-at-large status to membership in Jonesboro Alumnae for the current fiscal year.
Currently, I am not financial. Can I still participate in chapter activities??
A: Yes, we would love to have you join and support us in our efforts! In order to provide programs for the community, finances are definitely needed. However, your time is just as valuable. Therefore, if you are not able to make a financial commitment at this time, please know that your support and participation is welcomed. Please email jonesboroalumnae@live.com, subject line "Non-member participation", and the membership services committee will respond appropriately.
How can I become of member of Delta Sigma Theta?
A: We appreciate your heartfelt interest in gaining membership in our illustrious sorority. However, at this time, the Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter is not entertaining membership intake. Please know that if our position changes, ample notice will be provided of Rush activities according to the rules of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
