Months in the planning, and then re-planning, your Firewise Neighborhood Leaders have crafted this special event just for us. Ideally this event is meant for neighbors to get to know one another, if you did not already, and share information and resources that would be valuable to have in case of any emergency. Furthermore, we continue to spread the word on how to maintain defensible space and harden your home to more likely survive a wildfire.
On October 17, drive through the parking lot of the former Starview Lodge, wave to the new homeowners who have built there and graciously allowed us the space for this event. You will receive an emergency info bag, courtesy of the Red Cross, and a lunch to go, prepared by the original heroes of the kitchens at Little Red Schoolhouse, the Cobb Mountain Lions Club.
Jones Creek Firewise Group has partnered with CERT to provide this Neighborfest event which is funded by a grant through North Coast Opportunities..
Jones Creek Crossing includes the neighborhoods above the Black Rock Golf Course, Cobb Blvd and Mountain View, the entire Gifford Springs and Starview Subdivision as well as parts east of 175 between Gifford's Springs and Neft Rd.
