About Prof. Larson
Prof. Larson is a physicist who is deeply intrigued by open science and engineering questions that reside along the blurred boundaries of applied physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, and electrochemistry. He is especially drawn to questions whose eventual answers may directly or indirectly catalyze long-term positive impacts on human kind. For these reasons, he leverages interdisciplinary expertise to pioneer new techniques, technologies, and theories to better understand physicochemical properties of a host of materials and systems. Examples include beyond Li-ion battery materials surfaces, interfaces, and interphases, and materials possessing unique quantum properties. Oncological materials are also of interest.
Dr. Larson received a PhD in Physics from the University of Maryland, is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Baylor University in Waco, TX, and is Affiliate Faculty in the Energy Storage and Distributed Resources Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, CA
