I participated in a lot of community service in my free time. Specifically, I was part of a club at Stony Brook University for four years called Alternative Spring Break Outreach (ASBO). I even became involved in the executive board of the club as well, becoming the secretary. I was responsible for organizing club events, organizing and maintaining our mailing list of hundreds of people, and maintaining club documents and forms within Google Drive.
ASBO is a service learning/ community service club which does a lot of local community service around the Suffolk County area in the Fall semester, and in the Spring semester they do a big alternative spring break trip (hence the name) where they fly out to a different state to do a week of community service (e.g. Disaster Relief).
Below are some examples of organizations I have worked with through ASBO:
The above is an example of a Spring Break Trip where we flew out to Houston to help rebuild homes in areas affected by hurricanes.
