My name is Jonas Schober, and I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Raised in Schwabach, Germany, I studied at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. There, I received my PhD in 2023 under the supervision of Karl-Hermann Neeb. Following that, I held a postdoctoral position at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), working under the direction of Miguel Arturo Ballesteros Montero.

My research interests include functional analysis, complex analysis, and their applications in quantum field theory and scattering theory.

Besides mathematics, my two main passions are classical music (particularly the works of Richard Wagner and Gustav Mahler) and learning languages. Growing up with German and Fränkisch, I later added English and Spanish, and I am currently learning Korean.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I also enjoy engaging in temple and family history work and spending time with my family, especially my wonderful wife, Amy.
