From a very early age Jon E has always wanted to be involved in music. At the age of around 2, he told his mum that when he grew up he wanted to be a singer. Throughout his younger school years Jon E performed in school choirs and did several musicals. His passion for music started to take shape in his early teens when he started to play the drums. This lead to him forming his first band PFG. Playing covers and originals at various youth events, their musical style was heavily influenced by the hard rock bands of the late 80’s and early 90’s.
Jon E went on to form the band Toast, which in turn went on to win several talent competitions including the annual HM Rage Talent quest held at Totara Springs Camp on Queens Birthday Weekend... Featuring all originals and recorded over a single weekend, Never Burn consisted of classic rock anthems such as What is Love? and Home. These in turn went on to get airplay on Life FM, B FM and even a spin or two on Hauraki.
After several years of gigging and a couple of line-up changes, Toast disbanded, and Jon E went solo. Playing many gigs around the upper north island with his fluid backing band under the name Jon E and Yo Mama. Playing such established Auckland venues as the legendary Temple bar on Queen St and Sky City Hotel.
More recently, Jon E has been playing a blend of originals and covers at Northland Venues such as the Mangawhai Tavern, Cafe Eutopia and Te Whai Bay Wines.
In April 2020, Jon E completed his debut solo record, Tiger Tiger, which is now available and features the catchy new tracks "Tiger" and "Gotta Moment". This was followed up by the release of his follow up EP "HopeFool" in November 2020. The momentum kept going with the release of his third EP "SuperCharged" in May 2021.
After a bit of a Covid hiatus for live events, 2022 saw Jon E back in the saddle performing at several Northland Venues including the world class Golf Club Tara Iti for their annual members golf tournament.
