Almost everyone experiences stress to some extent, and college students are certainly no exception. Students report varying levels of stress throughout college due to a variety of factors. According to studies, about eight out of ten college students experience frequent stress. Why should we care about this? Research shows that unaddressed academic stress can lead to physical side effects such as trouble concentrating, irritability, lack of energy, difficulty sleeping, and even weakened immune systems. Moreover, if academic stress isn't managed, it can lead to more mental health issues on top of stress such as anxiety, depression, burnout, and an overall decline in health and well-being.
