Welcome to my teaching portfolio. Inside, you'll find my resume, lesson plans, letters of recommendation, and an overview of my teaching career to date. It also includes my end-of-year goals for both current and future classes, as well as how I have integrated technology into my instruction.
I am certified in B-6 general education, I am anticipating my Special Education Certification by July 2025. I began my teaching career as a remote teacher for second and third grades, which presented unique challenges due to limited resources and the absence of in-person instruction. However, this experience shaped me into a resourceful, innovative, and well-rounded educator. I developed creative ways to engage students virtually, which I now incorporate into my classroom. Remote teaching enhanced my ability to use descriptive and creative language and strengthened my focus on social-emotional learning (SEL).
In my classroom, I emphasize SEL through morning meetings, closing circles, idea-sharing time, movement breaks, and show-and-tell. These practices create a supportive environment where students feel safe and valued. My experiences with virtual instruction have deepened my understanding of SEL, and I am eager to continue applying these techniques in live settings.
Currently, I am a 3K teacher at The Tiegerman School, where I implement the Creative Curriculum and hone my skills as an Early Childhood Educator. I design and facilitate engaging activities for my students while differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of my learners.

This is a second grade math lesson where students learned multi digit whole number subtraction with a prior knowledge of place value.
During my time as a resident substitute teacher at Oyster Bay East Norwich School District I was also the set director for the James H. Vernon school play. The school play is a program with over 100 students eager to sing, dance and build sets. The students performed Madagascar a Musical Adventure Jr. I led about 25 students who were eager and excited to create different scenes for the actors. The scenes above are Central Park Zoo, Times Square and Madagascar respectively.

Here are examples of editable worksheets I designed for my second-grade students to complete daily. Students can fill in their answers directly in the provided boxes or print the worksheets, complete them by hand, and submit them to me through Google Classroom or via email.

This letter was written by my cooperating teacher during my student teaching experience Ms. Aylanna Tapp.
During my time as a 3K teacher we often completed crafts. This craft was holiday themed and promoted use of my student's fine motor skills.
For the Creative Curriculum we did many crafts during the box unit. For this craft we made bunnies out of boxes.
This is what typical morning meeting chart paper looks like in my classroom. I like to keep our discussions and pictures displayed to promote active learning in my classroom.
By the end of the academic year, my goal is for all students to meet or exceed New York State's learning standards. I achieve this through personalized, differentiated instruction and evaluate progress using formal and informal assessments, along with observations of student engagement and success in various teaching strategies.
For students below grade level, I set attainable goals within their zone of proximal development to maintain motivation and prevent discouragement. A successful year for me is one where all students, regardless of level, are eager and motivated to learn while making measurable progress.
