As Vice-Team Leader of the Student Project Team, you are the go-to person if the Team-Leader is absent or unable to fulfill the Team Leader role. If this happens, you are responsible for preparing and chairing team meetings and taking up other Team Leader responsibilities. Under normal circumstances, the Vice-Team Leader serves as the secretary of team meetings. As such, it is important to have organizational skills and leader competencies. The main responsibility of the Vice-Team Leader is coordinating and managing the so-called ‘Student Panel’. The Student Panel is a pool of engaged UM students who attend ‘Student Panels’ – regular events organized by the Vice-Team Leader (in collaboration with UM departments) during which students are connected to UM staff and asked to provide feedback and input on UM-related issues.

To ensure attendance to Student Panels, it is the Vice-Team Leader’s responsibility to interact and connect with UM students and try to convince them to become a loyal Student Panel Member. In addition, it is important that you possess good social and communication skills to connect with UM students but also with UM staff. Like any Student Project Team member, you have a professional attitude, lots of ideas about ways in which Maastricht University can improve itself and you are inspired by the Student Project Team’s motto: involving students for an evolving University!
