Mojo is a mobile application designed to help college freshmen connect to each other and familiarize themselves with the social scene at their campus.
The main screen is a map which is populated with every freshman.
- On this map, users can designate themselves as free to hangout, see who else free, post statuses looking for companions to join them in an activity/show what they’re up to, view other freshman’s statuses, and view other freshman’s profile (to see their interests, hometown, major, relationship status and contact info).
Contrarily to current social medias, Mojo uses a reverse hierarchical friending structure.
- Users begin friends with everyone on their campus (and thus every freshman originally is shown on one’s map) and the app reduces this friend group over time.
- By analyzing users interests, respected traits in a friend, major, and established friendships, Mojo’s algorithms virtually create a friend group for each user (allowing for user alterations).
With this friend group, users can continue to post and view statuses to connect and see what their friends are up to at any point.
