What is Band?

Message from the director:

The SBHS Instrumental Music program has existed for well over 100 years. Our powerhouse program offers marching band, drumline, color guard, concert band, orchestra, and two jazz bands to all students. We are the only high school music program in the district to offer yearly overnight marching band trips, annual visits to the University of Nevada Reno Jazz Festival, and concert band-orchestra field trips to Walt Disney Concert Hall. Stellar performances and trips aside, many believe music is just about making sound. However, science shows us that music education changes the way we think and act. It makes us better people, it makes us smarter people, it gives us college and career readiness and it blesses us with lifelong friends and family. Join ours today.
