The John Turner project is a A co-op of research related to John and Patience Turner by/about their descendants. John Turner was a formerly enslaved person, freed by his wife Patience. They lived in North Carolina and South Carolina in the 17 and 1800s. Here is more information on John and Patience Turner.
The project is comprised of many participants, who have traced their family tree to John and Patience Turner who also have had their DNA processed by one of the consumer ancestry DNA companies.
