Hi John,
Thanks for your promotion of music and culture. Your fight to bring sanity to cannabis laws (even if did entail 10 years for two joints). Your poetic spirit.
We met briefly at the 2014 Neal Cassady Birthday Bash in Denver. I mentioned how my photos accompany the text within the book you edited about Sun Ra for Headpress. And when I pointed out how it's still illegal to smoke cannabis in public, as you were toking up at the back of the Mercury Cafe, you looked at me like I had a hole in my head.

Big Chief I miss you. Some of my best memories were the shows I booked for you or saw you at in Los Angeles. The House of Blues, KXLU, The Doll hut..with Brother Wayne and the Detroit horn armada - Dr. Charles Moore, Ralph Buzzy Jones, Phil Ranelin. Those shows blew my mind. It's been a long time we've seen each other in person but I certainly hope our paths meet in the flesh again sometime. You continue to be an inspiration.
