Broadly, I am interested in data analysis, topology, and geometry. I am motivated by problems in applied and computational topology (particularly topological data analysis), metric geometry, and combinatorial topology. I use and develop tools from topology, geometry, and machine learning to attack these problems.
In my research, I study real-world data (e.g., [1], [2], [3], [4]), describe theory and foundations for topological data analysis (e.g., [5], [6, Ch. 10]), and establish connections between topics in applied topology and other branches of mathematics (e.g., [7], [8], [9]).
At JMU, I am a member of the Environmental Data Science Cohort.
Before my current position, I was a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida, where I was a member of the NSF-Simons Southeast Center for Mathematics and Biology. During that time, my mentors were Dr. Peter Bubenik and Dr. Hang Lu.
I earned a PhD in mathematics from Colorado State University in 2021; my advisor was Dr. Henry Adams.
